Juan and Alice - Central Park - "Don't Tell The Bride" BBC Program

Here’s a preview from a wedding I was asked to shoot related to an episode of the BBC program Don’t Tell the Bride, a series in which the groom must choose every detail of his wedding, from venue to cake to wedding dress. The program focuses on an engaged couple who are given 12,000 pounds and three weeks for the groom to plan the details. The couple lives apart and has no communication for those three weeks prior to the wedding.

This episode was aired in the UK on December 20th and will be available on the BBC website shortly - Stay Tuned! More photos of the production will be added soon.

The theme of the reception was “Alice in Wonderland.”

SLOW FOOD NYC FUNDRAISER

For all you foodies out there, there's a great benefit tomorrow night, November 16, in Brooklyn at The Invisible Dog Gallery that you should consider. It will feature artisanal cocktails by some of the finest mixologists in town, a whole pig roasted for us by Fatty ‘Cue other seasonal treats. My good friend, Mary Cleaver — a pioneer in the sustainable food movement and founder NYC's preeminent green caterer, Cleaver & Co (photos above come from Cleaver & Co events) — will be recognized as the 2011 Snailblazer Honoree awarded by Slow Food NYC. Slow Food is a non-profit, member-supported organization founded in 1989 to counteract the culture of fast food.

Money will raised through door admission ($100 general/$200 for VIP Hour) and via an auction. Party Proceeds benefit Urban Harvest programs which focus on kids in communities with limited access to fresh, healthful food – helping them learn about good food and their health, the health of their communities and the the health of the planet.

2. Try turning off your flash — it will make your photos look less flat and more 3-dimensional.

3. Consider waiting before you snap: The ceremony and first dance are perfect opportunities to reflect your joy and excitement to be part of the bride and groom’s celebration. Try turning off your cameras and phones and put your full attention on them with a big smile. This will also make their wedding photos “pop” with energy as the wedding photographer usually photographs the couple surrounded by the guests’ smiling faces.

How could you not smile when you look at these photos? Super fun couple...somewhat unconventional wedding as it was rockstar-themed, held at the Hudson Theater in midtown Manhattan. Needless to say, it was a hoot. While we were shooting in Times Square, onlookers actually thought she was Lady Gaga and wanted to pose with her for a photo— how appropriate!
